Knut Sorby, a middle‑aged man who’s spent his life dreaming of pop stardom, is starting to fear the race is already run. Driving to work, he hears a brand‑new hit on the radio—and recognises it as his own song, now recorded in Swedish by a younger artist. A missed clause in his record contract has given the producer full rights, stolen his breakthrough, and left Knut utterly defeated. But that same day at work, he will meet a man who will change everything. He gets a second chance in a way he could never have imagined.

Plot

Jenny Frid has been fired from her job as a journalist in Stockholm and seizes the opportunity to return to her childhood home in Jämtland, where she plans to meet her childhood friend Jonte and go paragliding in the mountains. In a bar in Östersund, Jenny spots her first love, Olof Nord, who is now a commissioner. He is sitting and talking with a police colleague about a new murder case. Frid eavesdrops and is tempted to get involved in the case. Commissioner Nord has been searching for an underground club with a casino and prostitution. He will later receive unexpected and unwanted help from Frid, who manages to find and sneak into the underground club disguised as an escort, where she becomes trapped without being able to communicate.

Plot

The city's police and legal system can no longer keep the streets safe, and therefore an underground syndicate has taken the law into its own hands. They capture criminals who have just served a prison sentence, but whom the syndicate believes have had far too short a punishment. Billy Sturmer finally steps out through the prison gates, freer than a bird. In 28 months, he had nearly forgotten what it was like to live, and it was almost worth it if that’s what it took to appreciate freedom. His mood is brilliant, and he perceives the weather the same way, despite the light rain falling. A shuttle bus arrives, and as a sign that fate is no longer against him, Billy is offered a free ride to the city. Carefree, he steps on, but in the next moment, he is startled to notice that there are restrained individuals with gags in their seats. Instinctively, he wants to step off, but the bus pulls away.
